Meet DawnMarie
DawnMarie is a 37-year-old who is committed to breaking down barriers for women in government and politics. Born and raised in Bohemia, New York; DawnMarie has always had a passion for government, politics and elections.
Throughout her life, DawnMarie has put an emphasis on being educated in her field. In 2009 she received her undergraduate degree from St. Joseph’s College in Social Sciences. She then went on to obtain a dual master’s degree from Brooklyn College in Public Administration and Urban Development. She then went on to receive her second master’s degree from Fordham University in Campaign and Election Management. This past year she graduated with her third M.A. From Columbia University in Quantitative Methods in Social Sciences. She is currently studying for her fourth master’s degree at Columbia University in Political Analytics.
In addition to schooling, she has won three Pollie Awards including one Pollie Gold from the American Association of Political Consultants. She is also a member of the Jesuit Honor Society, Alpha Sigma Nu, and has received multiple honors and awards throughout her career including Huntington Chamber of Commerce 30 under 30 award, Bohemia FD Citizen of the Year Award and the Long Island Business News Award for the top 50 Women in Business.
DawnMarie has worked in both Town and County Government. She spent time in the Town of Islip D.E.C. and then moved on to become Chief of Staff to Islip Town Councilman James O’Connor. She currently serves Suffolk County Legislator Anthony Piccirillo as his Chief of Staff, where she has helped to lead the Legislators team and response efforts during the COVID-19 crisis as well as draft legislation and coordinate community events.
In addition to working in government, DawnMarie is a proud small business owner. Her passion has always been in campaigns and elections and opening her own consulting firm was a lifelong goal. Right View Strategies LLC is a full-service Campaign Consulting and Digital Marketing firm, serving clients from across Long Island and beyond. DawnMarie has worked on campaigns from Congress to School Board, guiding many candidates to a victory. In political elections, her business has an incredible win loss record. Her work in campaigns and elections has earned her an AAPC Pollie Gold, which is the highest award in the industry.
More than politics, DawnMarie is also involved in professional and business associations including the American Association of Political Consultants, Campaigns & Elections. DawnMarie is the current President of the Bohemia Civic Association, where she helped the revitalize the group after the pandemic. She volunteers in her community whether it be organizing spring and fall cleanups or helping to put together food drives, DawnMarie is always more than happy to lend a hand. In her spare time, she likes to read, garden, travel, play with her dog Ralphe and eat Italian food with her family.
